Larry W. Hicks was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree at Texas Tech University, then a Master of Science Degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He returned to the Texas Tech School of Law where he received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence.
He has spent his entire career defending civil lawsuits, handling primarily medical malpractice, insurance defense and commercial litigation matters. He was an adjunct faculty member at Texas Tech University where he taught Food and Drug Law.
In 1984, he left the big firm environment and founded Hicks & Associates. Today, the majority of his practice is devoted to the defense of medical malpractice claims, though he is actively engaged in employment litigation and intellectual property litigation.
